Kalyn has been trying for a couple of weeks to crawl, but going nowhere but belly-flopped onto her tummy. She's mastered the rocking back and forth but forward propulsion was a mystery until today. I couldn't believe it, I sat her down on the floor and she crawled right over. Like any good first time mom witnessing the amazing act of such a milestone I kept moving her toys around so I could keep watching her crawl to them. Meany mom, I know! Now we are in for a whole new realm of childproofing. It's a good time for it though, as we are moving into our new house this weekend :).

Kalyn 7 months
I'm gonna get your hat aunt Marika!
Hanging out at dinner, starting to get a little sleepy. Kalyn is rarely a binky baby but will chew on it when she is teething if it has been dipped in ice water.
Getting ready for bed camping up at the lake. The Texas summer heat has finally died off.
My college girlfriends came to visit for the weekend, so we took Kalyn to Gruene, TX where they were having the annual music and wine festival.
"Mom, I want to try some!!!....Yum, I want more....oh, wait, that's sour....it's a lemon :}"
Kalyn liked her lemon for about the first two licks and then realized it made her pucker. Cruel or cute, maybe a little of both.
Kalyn and Jami, one of my college girlfriends :)
Having lunch at the Gristmill. Kalyn generally does very well out unless it is getting close to bedtime.
Cuddling with Kelly, getting ready for a nap.
Reading with Lisa down by the Riverwalk.
Dinner with Kelly.
Kalyn is desperately trying to crawl but she can't quite move forward yet. She rocks-rocks-rocks and then flops onto her belly.
Playing with her favorite puzzle from Grandma :).
Kalyn seems to love animals so far. We might have to get her a kitten for Christmas :).
"Look Dad, my bib is a work of art!" Sometimes she gets more on her than in her.
Drinking water out of a water bottle cap. She always wants a drink when I have my water bottle. She's learning how to drink from a sippy cup now.
Kalyn is growing up so fast. It's amazing how fast the time flies by now. She changes and learns how to do something new every day now. She has 8 teeth and is becoming her own little person with a lively energetic and happy personality. Let's hope she stays that way :)

Kalyn 6-6.5 months
Look at my soft fuzzy new stuffed animal bear rug that mom just couldn't pass up at Costco!
It's great to nap out on the deck.
Laughing and giggling at Uncle Jerry's house.
Okay, so the ball looks happier, but really I had a good time playing with it until mom tried to snap a picture.
Yum, yum! Watermelon seems to be a favorite!
Family photo in our new livingroom after the wood got installed and is being held down while it settles with the boxes of tile that will soon be installed in the rest of the house.
Just hanging out with my favorite pink lady bug.
Laughing and playing with mom :).
Mommy's sunglasses have become a favorite new toy.

Kalyn 5.5-6 months
Our house is coming along. Hope to be moved in by early to mid-October (or sooner if we are lucky!)
We will need to do some serious landscaping, but the view of the lake from the backsides is amazing :).
Checking out the main enterance with Kalyn. It has been so hot here all summer we have been limited on how much time we can spend up at the house because Kalyn gets overheated quickly with no AC. She turns into a little cherry-faced baby -- poor thing got mom's fair skin.
Uncle Jerry and Aunt Marika hogging Kalyn at dinner. Aunt Marika sure loves her. Guess Uncle Jerry better get ready for one of his own :).
Mom and Dad out to dinner. Kalyn does really well at the moment taking her places like out to dinner, as long as it's not past bedtime.
I think we might have trouble on our hands in the future!
A little college school spirit in her Willamette outfit before bathtime. She loves baths and is starting to like to splash in the water.
Cutie pie. She knows when she is on the blue rug and water is running in the background noise it is about bathtime so she's usually pretty happy.
Playing with mom in the living room. We can't wait to have more than 10 square feet of carpet to play on.
Grandpa gave her this monkey in Alaska and it has been a favorite ever since. Usually she is not so happy to sit in her car seat. She likes to be more mobile than her car seat allows.
I can't believe she is already 6 months old. Time sure flies! She has changed so much and everyday she changes more. It seems like she is a new little person every week with more personality and new antics. She loves to laugh, has learned to make fart sounds, likes to be tickled and tossed, and can jump forever in her johnny jump up and jump-a-roo. Once she masters crawling and walking it's going to be off to the races to keep up with her.

These videos are a little dark, sorry. Kalyn loves her johnny jump up. She likes it so much we have packed it for our trip to Alaska this week. We can wear her out at Grandpa's with it.
