Playing with dirt :)!

Kalyn's First Birthday :)!!!

Kalyn got a new kiddie sized picnic table for her birthday. Perfect for making as big a mess as she wants to outside when she eats!

Mom made a carrot cake and jumbo carrot cupcakes :).

"What's this weird thing on my head?!" Wearing a hat was very short lived but cute while it lasted.

Blowing out her candle. Hard to believe it's been a whole year already. Amazing how much growth and change and personality develops in a year. Kalyn's a very active, energetic, curious, independent little monkey who loves to climb on everything and seems to be fearless with falling. I foresee some bumps and bruises ahead as she goes from walking to running.

She had a jumbo cupcake which she promptly turned upside down and dropped off the side of her high chair but then realized carrot cake and creamcheese frosting was worth keeping on her tray.

Opening presents....a bathtoy from Aunt Marika.

Hmm....what looks the most interesting in this pile?

Baby dishes from Grandma....

Playing with tissue paper and letting Hannah and Brittany help unwrap presents.

Kalyn walking after a week of practice :)

Kalyn is starting to walk more at home now. She's prett fearless so I anticipate we might have a few bumps/bruises/scrapes/ouchies. It won't be long before her crawling days are done. Here comes a whole new set of adventures!

Kalyn 11.5 months crawling and walking

Kalyn's not going to be crawling for much longer. She sure is fast on all fours and darn cute - even when she is speed crawling to the cats dish (she's discovered cat food and thinks it must be the best food ever since she's not allowed to have it) or the toilet paper roll (which she likes to unroll completely and of course stick in her mouth).

A few steps here, a few steps there, pretty soon it's going to be a few steps EVERYWHERE! She's starting to stand up on her own a lot more and will take a couple of steps before she plops down. I fear in a few weeks she may be off and running, quite literallly! She doesn't like to sit still much or do anything slow.
